Jointly offered by the Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas (EMIA) and Media Technology and Publishing Center (MTPC), this course covers a broad range of digital media topics and techniques. It aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare them for other courses and opportunities in the Major+DMCA program. The course will focus on both the soft and hard skills of digital media, covering aesthetics, theory and practice of digital photography and cinematography, content creation, visual storytelling, media design, interactive and immersive media, generative arts, and relevant software and hardware operations such as picture and sound editing, digital effects, and more.
Teaching Mode
This course utilizes a hybrid learning model that includes lectures, individual advisement, workshops, e-learning resources, in-class demonstrations, assignments, and practical exercises. It enables students to explore various digital media technologies while focusing on their specific areas of interest.
Target Students
This course if required for all DMCA students, totalling an approximately 20 students from other schools.
